In today’s competitive market, design changes can’t be arbitrary. Arbitrary design changes can do more harm than good. They can lead to unnecessary noise, increased operational expenses, and, at worst, a negative impact on user experience.
Every design decision should ideally drive tangible business value, whether it’s increasing sales or enhancing customer satisfaction. And establishing this can be a challenge.
How to Establish Good Business Value in Design
To find key business value in design, focus on aligning design outcomes with business objectives. Start by understanding the company’s goals and the problems users face. Good design should not only enhance user experience but also contribute to measurable impacts, like increasing customer engagement or reducing costs.
However, breaking down this issue can be a challenge more often than not, here are some broad pillars to focus on when making these evaluations:
